The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced strict new punishments for jet ski violations, and a new jet ski inspector to police Dubai’s shores. “Fines for violating the rules, such as riding where not permitted, will range from dhs200 to dhs1,500 along with the impounding of the jet ski,” said Mattar Al Tayer, head of the RTA. “Rental offices will also be policed, to make sure no violations occur,” he added. “Fines here could be as steep as dhs 6,000.” Al Mamzar Beach, Dubai Creek near the Creek Park, Marina and Dubai Marina are being earmarked as areas where jet skis will be allowed.
